The Treatments

Stress is an all too common symptom of our hectic modern lives, and it can have a very negative effect on our health and wellbeing. Too much stress can reduce the effectiveness of our immune system, leaving us vulnerable to infections. Stress can also lead to headaches, neck and backaches, as well as insomnia and depression.

In our busy lives, it often feels as though there are not enough hours in the day but making time for regular massages can be extremely energising and so enable us to cope better.

Sports Massage can be used to treat many types of soft tissue injury such as back pain, stiff neck and shoulders, muscle strains, knee pain or post exercise stiff and sore muscles.  Sports Massages can reduce pain, speed up recovery time and reduce the risk of future injury.  Pre-event massages can improve performance and reduce the risk of injury.  Post-event massages help to relax the muscles, reduce muscle soreness and speed up the recovery process.

Deep Relaxation Massage is a gentle but effective and deeply soothing treatment combining Eastern and Western techniques, including acupressure and table shiatsu. It is often used to treat conditions like digestive complaints, headaches, insomnia, chronic fatigue and neck / back pain.

Indian Head Massage is a soothing and calming treatment, beneficial for stress related conditions such as tension headaches, fatigue and insomnia.  It is a lovely, gentle treatment during which you sit on a chair, fully clothed.

Swedish Massage can induce a deep sense of relaxation and wellbeing.  A Swedish Massage can be a full body massage, a back massage or a neck and shoulder massage.

Reflexology is a treatment that works on the principle that the major organs and systems of the body are mapped out on the feet and so by treating the feet, it is possible to treat the whole body.  It is particularly beneficial for stress-related conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome or insomnia.

Facial Reflexology is a gentle, luxurious and deeply relaxing treatment that works on the principle that the body's major systems and organs are mapped out on the face. By treating the face, it is possible to treat the whole body. With facial reflexology, there is the added benefit that it improves skin tone and circulation, giving your face a healthy glow. Any make up (except eye make up) is removed and a few drops of facial (rose) oil applied. For people with sensitive skin, the treatment can be performed without the use of oil. Facial reflexology is an incredibly relaxing and calming treatment. It is particularly good for treating stress-related conditions such as insomnia, tension headaches and IBS.

Hot Stone Massage is a comforting and deeply relaxing advanced massage, using hot stones. The use of heated stones aids the release of muscle tension without the need for deep pressure which results in a therapeutic treatment that is also a wonderfully soothing experience.

Mini Massage is a 20 minute massage of your choice (excluding Hot Stone). Because I have to spend time with new clients doing an initial consultation and assessment, I can only offer mini massages to existing clients.

Bespoke Massages - I can also offer tailor-made packages based on these treatments. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.

Please note that appointments consist of an assessment, treatment and home care advice.
